The seventh edition of the Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children runs in Cairo between 7 and 12 March at Hanager Arts Centre, and then will proceed to Alexandria on 14 March at the Jesuit Garage, and on 16 March in Luxor’s Youth Village El-Tud.
This edition includes storytelling, puppet theatre and object theatre shows, as well as workshops for children.
The festival's line-up includes theatre plays from the US, UK, Germany and Egypt.
Hakawy Festival is organised by AFCA, an independent organisation aiming to use the arts as a tool in child education. Using Arabic, French, and English languages in its programmes, AFCA encourages child and youth creativity while developing personal skills.
