Flood victims are evacuated to safer areas in Kozhikode, in the southern Indian state of Kerala. Torrential monsoon rains have disrupted air and train services in the southern Indian state of Kerala (tourist hotspot), where flooding, landslides and bridge collapses have killed dozens of people.

The death toll from floods in India's Kerala increased to 163 on August 17, officials said.
