The announcement was made under the auspices of Minister of Culture Nevine El-Kilani and the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Culture Hisham Azmy.
The winners were selected through a competition held by the Competitions Department of the Central Administration for the People and Cultural Committees.
Ibrahim Farghali won the prize for the best Egyptian novel with his work The Train Reader.
Meanwhile, Hassan Hamid won the prize for the best Arabic novel with his work Nagogi Al-Saghir.
The competition attracted 103 applicants, with 90 of them being from Egypt and 13 from Arab countries.
