VIDEO: Art Dubai Projects curator gives Ahram Online a tour through the fair

Art Dubai Projects is a non-profit programme within Art Dubai that includes works by 12 emerging artists and collectives that explore the theme of intervention. The curator of the projects this year, Fawz Kabra, worked with the artists to explore the notion of intervention and produce works to be displayed outside the exhibition halls of the art fair.

The 8th Art Dubai, hosted in Madinet Jumeirah, features works by over 500 artists estimated to be worth $40 to 45 million.

There are more than 70 galleries exhibiting new works in the Art Dubai Contemporary exposition hailing from the world over. Marker, a dynamic programme of invited art spaces that is dedicated to showcasing a different theme or geographical location each year, and which focused on West Africa in last year’s edition of the fair, zooms in on art from Central Asia and the Caucasus. Marker is curated by Slavs and Tartars this year and is featured within the same hall as the contemporary works.
