Magdy Ashour, the brotherhood candidate for the Nozha constituency in Cairo, has gone missing for the second time in as many days.‬

‪According to Gamal Nassar, spokesperson for the MB, Ashour has disappeared and they believe he is detained by state security.  

‪"They want to make it seem that the brotherhood have him, but we just received information that he is detained by state security," Nassar told Ahram Online.

‪This is the second time Ashour disappears. Yesterday, it was reported that Ashour, who is running for the farmers seat, was "kidnapped" by several Brotherhood members after he decided to ignore the group's decision to boycott today's runoffs. The claims were smashed by Ashour himself, after he made a phone call to the "Egypt Today" television program yesterday, in which he denied the allegations. This morning, he was reported missing again.

‪"His phone is turned off, he cannot be reached and we believe that they have him, possibly till the end of today's elections," says Nassar.

‪Nassar denies the accusations that the brotherhood were behind his disappearance yesterday. But according a security source, Ashour's brother, Abdel Baset Mohamed Ashour, filed a complaint yesterday with the public prosecutor that Magdy was kidnapped from his home after getting into an argument with Brotherhood members over his decision to run in the second round.

‪Ashour's current whereabouts are yet unknown, but brotherhood members anticipate his release at the end of the voting day. The ministry of interior would not comment on the issue.‬
