Gharbiya governor inaugurates secondary school named after footballer Mohamed Salah

Egypt’s star footballer is much loved across the country, inspiring youth to excel

On Sunday, Governor of Gharbiya Major Hisham El-Said inaugurated Mohamed Salah Military Industrial Secondary School, named after the 27-year-old Liverpool FC forward.

 
The school is in Salah’s hometown Nagrig.
 
Former Governor Major Ahmed Daif Saqr took the initial decision to name Salah’s alma mater after him when Salah scored the goals that qualified Egypt for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
 
The school underwent thorough maintenance work that cost around EGP 14 million, and was reopened today for students to start the school year 2019/2020.
