Egypt reports another daily record of new coronavirus cases on Thursday

Egypt reported on Thursday 1127 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 20,793.

This is the second day in a row the country witnesses a daily record when it comes to the infections recorded per day.

The numbers in the country have witnessed an increase in the current week as the government expanded in the number of hopsitals providing coronavirus screening across the country.

The health ministry announced it recorded 29 new fatalities due to COVID-19, raising the total death toll to 845. 

Some 154 new fully recovered patients were discharged from hospitals, the ministry revealed, increasing the total number of fully recovered patients to 5,395. 

The ministry’s spokesperson Khaled Megahed said the number of people whose test results have turned from positive to negative, including the recoveries, has now reached 6,019, including the fully recovered patients.

He added that the new cases were detected through the ministry’s investigation and contact tracing protocols.
