Egypt dispatched on Wednesday medical supplies to South Sudan as per the directives of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian armed forces announced.

According to the Egyptian army’s statement, a military jet loaded with huge quantities of medical aid supplies, including baby formula provided by the health ministry to South Sudan, took off from east Cairo airbase, heading for Juba International Airport to unload the shipment.

Meanwhile, officials of South Sudan lauded the Egyptian efforts exerted to support their country, expressing full appreciation and thanks to the Egyptian political leadership for their strenuous efforts to help South Sudan overcome their problems.

Two jets are also heading to Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh loaded with similar shipment of medical aid supplies in preparation for transporting the shipment to Yemen, the statement said.

Yemeni officials have thanked Egypt for its support, asserting the importance of these supplies in supporting the health sector in Yemen.
