However, temperatures will remain high during the daytime in southern Upper Egypt, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

The EMA also expects moderate temperatures in northern Upper Egypt, South Sinai and the northern coast.

Cold temperatures are expected at night across the country.

Most of the country has seen mild to warm temperatures over the last week, following several days of moderate to heavy rain that hit much of the country, especially the northern coast, in mid-November.

The rain last month forced many governorates, including Cairo, to close schools and deploy vacuum trucks to remove water from streets.

Aswan, Egypt’s southern-most governorate, was hit by heavy rains and rare thunderstorms in mid-November, flushing scorpions out of their hiding places and destroying houses. Three people died and hundreds were injured due to scorpion stings in the governorate.

The government provided 504 alternative housing units to Aswan residents displaced by flooding.

According to the EMA, Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will see highs of 22 to 23 degrees and lows of 13 to 15 degrees during in the next six days.

The country's northern coast is expected to see highs of 21 to 23 degrees and lows of 14 to 16.

South Sinai is expected to see highs of 25 to 26 and lows of 15 to 16.

Northern Upper Egypt will see highs ranging from 23 to 24 and lows of 10 to 11, while southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 27 to 31 and lows of 12.
