El-Sisi received a phone call from Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, in which the president emphasized the necessity of concerted efforts to find a just solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with relevant international resolutions.
In addition, El-Sisi affirmed to Guterres that Egypt will continue to support any future steps in this regard.
According to the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi and Guterres agreed that the crisis poses a grave danger to regional peace and security. They also emphasized the need to take immediate measures to end military operations on all fronts and protect civilians to prevent further deterioration in the humanitarian situation.
Furthermore, El-Sisi and Guterres stressed that the opportunity should be given to diplomatic efforts to contain the situation and restore calm to pave the way to reviving the peace process.
A call from the Saudi Crown Prince
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed in a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman the ongoing escalation between the Palestinian and Israeli sides and the significant danger it poses to civilian lives and regional stability.
During the call, both leaders strongly emphasized the importance of restraint at this critical juncture, stressing that priority should be given to rational dialogue and the efforts to de-escalate the situation to prevent the security and humanitarian situations from deteriorating and spiralling out of control.
According to the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi and bin Salman agreed to continue consultation and coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia to promote the Arab vision for the Palestinian issue.
This vision revolves around achieving a comprehensive and just settlement based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy references.
A call from Cypriot President
El-Sisi received a call on Monday from his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides. During the call, the president said Egypt would continue intensive contact with various parties to achieve calm and stop escalation.
He also stressed the importance of dealing with the Palestinian issue from a comprehensive perspective that addresses the root causes of the crisis and achieves sustainable stability in the region.
El-Sisi and Christodoulides agreed on the importance of concerted efforts at the regional and international levels to urge the parties to exercise self-restraint and to move away from the cycle of violence to spare civilians the consequences of escalation.
A call with the Chancellor of Austria
President El-Sisi also discussed the latest developments in the Israeli-Palestinian war in a phone call with the Federal Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer.
The phone call focused on developments in the current events between the Palestinians and Israelis and regional and international efforts to contain the situation and end the cycle of violence.
El-Sisi reiterated the importance of advancing a just and comprehensive settlement to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, stressing that the two sides must exercise self-restraint and cease current hostilities to prevent the deterioration of the situation.
A call from Erdogan
The Egyptian Presidency also announced that President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed in a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan the latest developments to de-escalate the situation between Israeli and Palestinian sides, which poses a significant threat to the security and stability of the region.
The two presidents emphasized the importance of urging all parties to immediately cease hostilities and violence and avoid further risking the lives of civilians. They also affirmed the need to protect civilians and ensure they live in humane conditions.
Furthermore, El-Sisi and Erdogan affirmed that a permanent resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict can only be achieved through providing hope and opening up a political horizon that involves implementing the two-state solution.
