Egypt nabs spot in Lonely Planet’s best destinations of 2024

Egypt was listed in the Lonely Planet travel guide among the Best in Travel 2024, holding onto its sixth-place ranking in the list of Best Value Destinations.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the renowned travel guide Lonely Planet revealed its eagerly awaited list of the top 50 tourist destinations for 2024.

Egypt ranked sixth in the category of Best Value Destinations, captivating travellers with its rich history, cultural treasures, and awe-inspiring landscapes.

Egypt's inclusion in this prestigious list is a testament to the country's enduring appeal. From the timeless wonders of the Pyramids of Giza to the magnificent Sphinx, Egypt boasts a cultural tapestry that weaves together ancient history and modern vibrancy. Visitors can walk in the footsteps of the pharaohs, explore temples that echo the stories of the past, and marvel at the intricate hieroglyphics adorning ancient structures.

Lonely Planet also highlighted the imminent opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and Egypt’s diverse landscapes that cater to every traveller’s preference.

In its coverage of the Lonely Planet list, the Sun newspaper referred to Egypt as one of the eight countries that should be on every traveller’s radar in 2024.
