State supports Egyptian armed forces with advanced weaponry to safeguard national security: Military Spokesman

Egypt's Armed Forces Spokesman Colonel Gharib Abdel-Hafez emphasised that 51 years after the historic October War, Egypt continues to strengthen its armed forces' capabilities across all branches with the latest weapon systems.

In recent press statements, Abdel-Hafez said the state's support to the armed forces aims to protect the country’s national security and secure economic assets on all strategic fronts.

He highlighted that the October War symbolised the Egyptian people's strong support for the armed forces during a critical time in the nation's history.

Abdel-Hafez added that the October War victory would not have been possible without the collective backing of the Egyptian people.

He also emphasised that the October War generation reshaped Egypt’s military history through the armed forces' sacrifices, leaving behind a lasting legacy.

Abdel-Hafez affirmed that the true victor in the war was the one who secured peace and fully regained their land without compromise.

He pointed out that the Egyptian artillery proved to be a harsh surprise for the enemy along the frontlines, and that the Egyptian soldier had been the backbone of the armed forces' modernisation system.

He further noted that raising awareness is a major challenge and it plays a crucial role in national development and progress.

The spokesman also stressed the importance of continuous engagement with the media to ensure the dissemination of accurate information from official sources.
