The order was issued after a field inspection conducted by the Authority's Technical Office on Wednesday, 16 July, as part of its ongoing investigation into the 7 July fire.

Investigators surveyed all 11 floors of the main Ramses Central building and the adjacent six-storey annexe used for international communications, connected by an elevated passageway, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.

The Administrative Prosecution's Media Centre had previously monitored media reports of the massive fire that broke out on Monday, 7 July, which resulted in the death of 4 Telecom Egypt employees, injury of at least 27 people, and significant property damage.

Investigators also reviewed a comprehensive legal report, outlining the actions taken from the moment the fire broke out until it was fully brought under control, as well as the subsequent efforts to restore the disrupted telecommunications services.

Prosecutors instructed the company to produce findings from all relevant technical and financial committees, including an assessment of the fire's cause, the level of compliance with civil protection standards, and the condition of occupational safety and routine maintenance systems.

A complete inventory of casualties and property damage must also be submitted.

According to the Prosecution, Telecom Egypt will also oversee the ongoing restoration and repair works at the Ramses Central building and its annexe and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and public and private property.

The Administrative Prosecution affirmed its commitment to holding all parties accountable and ensuring that such incidents are thoroughly investigated to prevent future recurrence.
