Meeting on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, the leaders warned that the situation in Gaza had become "unbearable," citing the mounting human toll, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and the destabilising consequences for the broader Middle East and the Muslim world.
In a joint statement shared by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, the leaders urged allowing those who fled to return safely and ensuring the flow of sufficient humanitarian aid, which they described as essential first steps towards a just and lasting peace.
The statement also outlined agreement on a broader roadmap. The leaders stressed the need for a stabilisation plan, protection of Jerusalem's holy sites, and reforms within the Palestinian Authority to strengthen governance in the West Bank.
"Participants emphasized the need to ensure a comprehensive plan for reconstruction in Gaza, based on the Arab-OIC plan, as well as security arrangements, with international assistance supporting the Palestinian leadership, and expressed commitment to work together to ensure the success of plans and to rebuild the lives of Palestinians in Gaza," the joint statement said.
Furthermore, the leaders expressed their commitment to cooperate with President Trump, describing his role as crucial to ending the war and opening new horizons for peace. They said the summit should be viewed as the beginning of a process aimed at restoring stability and promoting regional cooperation.
The meeting was convened at Trump's initiative and co-hosted with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The leaders attending the meeting included King Abdullah II of Jordan; President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye; President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia; Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan; Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly; UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
