Abdelatty's remarks came during a meeting in Port Sudan with his Sudanese counterpart, Mohy Eldin Salem, and UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Tom Fletcher.
During the meeting, the Egyptian FM affirmed that Sudan’s humanitarian situation receives full attention from all Egyptian authorities, following President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to step up efforts to ease the suffering endured by the Sudanese.
During the meeting, which addressed enhancing the international response to the current crisis, Abdelatty called for ensuring the delivery of aid to the most affected groups.
He praised the Sudanese Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) for cooperating with humanitarian organizations and facilitating visas and transit permits for UN and aid personnel to affected areas, a step welcomed by international officials.
Abdelatty further emphasized the importance of supporting regional and international efforts aimed at achieving sustainable peace in Sudan and alleviating the humanitarian suffering there.
He reiterated Egypt’s unwavering positions in support of Sudan’s unity, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, fully rejecting any plans to divide the country, while working to preserve its national institutions and protect the resources of the Sudanese people.

Egypt-Sudan consultations
Abdelatty held separate consultations with his Sudanese counterpart, where they addressed the latest developments in the Sudanese crisis and ways to support efforts to contain the crisis.
During the talks, the Egyptian FM condemned the horrific atrocities that recently took place in the city of Al-Fasher, reiterating Egypt’s full solidarity and comprehensive support for Sudan amid these critical circumstances.
He affirmed Cairo’s support for Sudan’s Government of Hope, led by Kamil Idris, underscoring the need to implement the International Quartet statement issued in September.
Abdelatty called for regional and global efforts to support a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire and create the conditions necessary for launching an inclusive political process that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, stability, and development.
The Egyptian FM stressed the need to launch a humanitarian track that ensures unhindered access to aid, alongside increasing relief support and enhancing coordination with international organisations, in light of the tragic deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
He pointed to Egypt’s ongoing efforts to support the Sudanese people, whether through delivering relief aid via the shared border or through ongoing coordination with the UN and the African Union (AU) to expedite the delivery of assistance to the most affected areas.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, the meeting addressed water security, where the Egyptian and Sudanese top diplomats affirmed their unified position as the Nile downstream countries, underscoring the utmost importance of joint coordination to defend the water rights and interests of their peoples.
They also discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties, where Abdelatty expressed Cairo’s aspiration to develop them in all fields, especially in the economy and trade areas, in addition to rehabilitating Sudan’s infrastructure, including the electricity, water, health, and education sectors, as well as supporting reconstruction, recovery, and development efforts.
Earlier on Tuesday, Abdelatty arrived in Port Sudan, where he met with Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council (TSC) Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan.
