The General Egyptian Book Organization has released the complete works of renowned novelist Gamal El-Ghitani in two volumes.
The first is devoted to his short stories, the second is for his novels.
El-Ghitani, born on 9 May 1945, is one of Egypt's most celebrated writers. He was one of the most prominent novelists of the ‘60s generation.
He is the founder and first chief editor of the leading literary newspaper in the Arab world, Akhbar Al-Adab (Literature News). Among his major works are Zayni Barakat, and Papers Of a Youth Who Lived a Thousand Years Ago. His books have been translated into various languages.
He has a unique project to bring to life Egypt’s Arabic heritage and create a unique novel world. It is considered among the most mature works in contemporary Arabic writing.
