Speaking at the Huawei Cloud North Africa Summit 2025, Shi positioned AI not just as a technological tool, but as a strategic catalyst for inclusive development and economic growth across the continent.
“We see AI becoming a cornerstone of progress in key sectors, from government services to healthcare, education, and infrastructure,” Shi said during a roundtable session in Cairo.
“Huawei Cloud is building an intelligent, secure platform that empowers local institutions to adopt AI in ways that are sustainable, scalable, and respectful of data sovereignty.”
Huawei Cloud’s strategy focuses on providing customizable cloud solutions, expanding AI and data analytics services across industries, and investing in African talent.
Shi emphasised that Huawei is not just exporting technology, but fostering ecosystems that support local innovation and respect the unique digital governance needs of each country.
With Egypt at the centre of its regional push, Huawei plans to strengthen the nation’s cloud infrastructure and extend its AI-driven services across the African continent.
