In a statement, the ministry said Agiba Petroleum Company completed drilling the Dorra-36 and West Yasmine-3 wells, with early tests indicating strong natural flow rates.
Initial results show that the two wells are expected to produce a combined 1,650 barrels of crude oil per day and about 19 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
Agiba Petroleum said work is underway to quickly connect the new wells to existing production facilities so they can begin operating as soon as possible.
In December 2025, the ministry signed agreements with foreign partners to drill 26 oil and gas exploration wells in the first quarter of 2026.
Moreover, UAE-based Dana Gas announced a new onshore gas discovery in Egypt’s Nile Delta after successfully drilling the North El-Bassant-1 exploration well.
Egypt’s natural gas production has been rising gradually, reaching 4.2 billion cubic feet per day, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi said in December.
