Among the planned events is the launch of Heritage House at the Fustat Traditional Crafts Centre, in the heart of old Cairo, at the end of August.

The centre currently offers The Artisans of Egypt (Sanayeitet Masr), a two-year diploma training program designed and implemented by the culture ministry's development fund.

The location will also serve as the premises of the national Intangible Cultural Heritage Archive, as well as the venue for many heritage workshops and events.

The celebration will also include The Dates Festival, which is planned to take place in the Siwa Oasis this October.
