Kicking off on 9 September, the new festival She Arts focuses on women creators with over 10 concerts and many other activities to take place at the Tahrir Cultural Centre. The Egyptian women artists will be joined by names from Portugal, France, Switzerland and Palestine.

"From ancient times to the present, women have been an integral part of art and culture. In diverse and stimulating ways, they have been creators, innovators and significant contributors to various artistic expressions," reads the festival's website.

"In a celebration for and of women, this large-scale international event brings together artists in a jam-packed program to connect and share their experience, and engulf the audience in the realm of creativity."

The three-day festival (9-11 September) will present over 12 activities including concerts, workshops, seminars, and film screenings, all focusing on women creators and women’s issues.

The music segment will feature Maryam Saleh, Nouran Abutaleb, Nesma Mahgoub, Amie Sultan, Susana, Women of Fabrica led by Neveen Allouba, and the Egyptian Harp Ensemble featuring renowned women harpists, among others.

The festival will also include dance performances by women troupes and discussions with renowned creative figures such as screenwriter Mariam Naoum.

She Arts is a brain child of Neveen Kenawy, who is also the festival's artistic director.
