The 4th Breaking Walls Festival (1-30 November)
Breaking Walls annual festival presents site-specific performances and dance film showcase including dance, theatre, art and music.
This festival goes beyond the conventional by bringing performances and theatrical experiences closer to the people. Buildings and public spaces in Cairo that would normally be inaccessible or simply have a different function in our social environment, now become the ambassadors of this festival.
A ten-day site-specific festival in Cairo including dance, theatre, visual arts and music represented by professional and emerging artists.
Among the participating artists in the festival Nermin Habib, an Egyptian artist, contemporary dancer and choreographer with a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and a member of International Dance Council. Claudio Curciotti is an electronic music producer, author of sound documentaries and podcasts, was born in Rome in 1980 from a family of musicians and luthiers. Egyptian oud player Aly Eissa has collaborated with tens of musicians in the independent music scene in Cairo. As an oud virtuoso, he was mentored by the legendary Abdo Dagher and Hazem Shahin. Featuring his diverse musical influences, Eissa’s compositions create versatile and meditative atmospheres throughout the musical experience (Events of the festival are taking place in several locations).

A comedy inspired by the traditional Egyptian puppet show karagoz. The performance has all the tricks you would expect from Karagoz, as well as mime that adds a contemporary twist by exploring the emotions of love and loss.
