Ahly coach Mosimane pledges to fight for 3rd CAF Champions League title in row

After returning to winning ways and reaching the quarterfinals of the Egypt s Cup, Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane revealed Sunday that he will fight to snatch the 3rd CAF Champions League title in row despite the pressures and challenges the team suffer from in the previous days.

Ahly were on hot plate after losing the Egyptian Premier League title to arch-rivals Zamalek and Egypt's Super title to Talae El-Geish that forced the team's management to deduct EGP300,000 from all players and the technical staff.

"To win the 3rd CAF Champions League trophy in row, comes with the stresses, pressures & all the challenges that my team is facing for the last 7 days," Mosimane wrote on his official twitter account early on Sunday.

"Nothing precious comes the easy way.I have seen these movies before,and they all end the same way. Hence they are Thrillers," he added.


"We will also make corrections on the Egyptian Premeir League title and fight to bring it home. It was very painful, but that is what Champions go through," The South African coach concluded.

Since his arrival in October 2020, the 56-year-old Mosimane claimed impressive record at Ahly, winning the African Champions League title two times in row, the bronze medal at the Club World Cup, the 2020 Egyptian Premier League title and the African Super Cup trophy.
