The Red Devils will face archrivals Zamalek in the Egypt Super Cup final in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, four days after they defeated Ceramica Cleopatra 2-1 in the semifinal.
“We didn’t have much time to prepare due to the short gap between the semifinal and final,” Koller told the pre-match news conference.
The Swiss coach confirmed the availability of all his players for the game, with the notable absence of defenders Achraf Dari and Khaled Abdel-Fattah.
Reports suggested that fullbacks Omar Kamal, Yahia Attiyat Allah, midfielder Akram Tawfiq, and Wessam Abu Ali are doubtful for the match.
“All players will take part in today’s training ahead of tomorrow’s match,” he added.
The 63-year-old stated that he will do his best to guide the team to win the Super Cup, expressing confidence that his side can achieve this goal.
“My job is to prepare the team to win titles. I am confident that Ahly has the experience and quality to win the Egyptian Super Cup against Zamalek,” Koller said.
He urged the team’s supporters to be patient and not make early judgments based on the loss in the CAF Super Cup last month.
The African champions lost to Zamalek 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in the CAF Super Cup in Saudi Arabia in September.
“We are still early in the season. I hope judgments come at the end of it. We drew 1-1 with Zamalek last time but lost on penalties.
“Sports are about both winning and losing. At Ahly, we aim to win every match, but there are days when luck isn’t on our side.
“Tomorrow, we are determined to lift the cup,” he concluded.
