The Red Devils controlled much of the game, but it ended in a goalless draw after regular and extra time.
"We played an excellent match and were unfortunate not to capitalize on our chances in the first half, but we are happy with the win," Koller said.
"We controlled the tempo of the game and won through penalties," the Swiss coach added.
"Today's win gives us momentum for the future. We prepared well for the match, but I want to thank the players for their efforts," the 63-year-old tactician continued.
"At Ahly, we are expected to win all titles. We are extremely pleased with the Super Cup; it will give us a boost for the rest of the season," Koller concluded.
The Cairo giants are gearing up to face UAE side Al Ain in the Intercontinental Cup on Tuesday.
