The 25-year-old Egyptian international has been a standout performer this season, sparking speculation of a winter move to Manchester City.

Marmoush has been in scintillating form, netting 15 goals and providing 10 assists in 17 league appearances, placing him just one goal behind Bundesliga top scorer Harry Kane.

"Eintracht Frankfurt are currently in talks with another club regarding the transfer of Omar Marmoush. As a result, the player will not be part of the team today," the club announced on social media shortly before kickoff against Dortmund.

However, Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krösche, confirmed the development in an interview with DAZN ahead of the match.

"It looks like Omar will be leaving us, which is why he’s not in the squad," Krösche stated.

Marmoush, who joined Frankfurt on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023, has attracted interest from several top European clubs.

Earlier reports linked him with Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal, while La Liga giants Barcelona have also been rumored to be monitoring the versatile forward.

According to German and international media, Manchester City, currently trailing Premier League leaders Liverpool by 12 points, are prepared to pay up to €80 million ($82 million) to secure Marmoush’s services.
