Omar previously participated in both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, but he never managed to get past the round of 64.

In quarters, Assar will be facing world no.3 Ma Long of China on Wednesday.

Ma Long is the gold medalist at the 2016 Olympics and also the 2019 World champion.
