In a thrilling match that lasted 50 minutes, the 28-year-old El-Sherbini overcame her compatriot and world number two, Nouran Gohar, with a 3-1 victory (11-7, 6-11, 11-4, and 11-4).

Reflecting on her performance, El-Sherbini expressed her satisfaction, saying, "I'm happy that I played the squash that I wanted to play today."

She also acknowledged that though this season has been one of the best in her career, having won multiple tournaments, she remains motivated for the challenges ahead.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Ali Farag emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle against New Zealand's world number three, Paul Coll.

The match lasted 73 minutes, with Farag prevailing 3-1 (11-8, 5-11, 11-7, and 15-13).

Farag expressed relief at sealing the victory despite missing opportunities to close out the match earlier.

He praised Coll's tenacity and commended his ability to elevate his game each season.

The triumph of Farag and El-Sherbini at the Windy City Open further solidifies their positions as top contenders in the squash world.
