Now, three years later, the Taekwondo champion is gearing up to compete in a new weight category (-80kg) and has set his sights on achieving an even better result in Paris.

Seif Eissa's impressive world ranking secured his spot at the Olympics, placing him among the top five players in his category globally.

Following his Olympic success in Tokyo, the 26-year-old maintained his winning momentum.

He secured the gold medal at the African Championship in Rwanda in 2022 and then went on to claim the bronze medal at the World Championship in Mexico later that same year.

In the following year, Eissa continued to shine, earning another bronze medal at the World Championship in Azerbaijan, along with two silver medals at the African Championship and the All-African Games. Additionally, he achieved the silver medal at the Grand Prix of Manchester.

After his Grand Prix success, Eissa underwent a two-month rehabilitation period to recover from a tendon injury and prepare for the Olympics.

With his exceptional talent and unwavering determination, Issa possesses the potential to bring home another medal.

"God, help me make my country and family proud with a medal in Paris," Eissa wrote on his official Facebook account.
