* Olympic medalists Sara Samir and Ahmed Elgendy have been chosen as the flagbearers for the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games by the Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC).
* Veteran fencer Alaa Abouelkassem and shooter Azmy Mehelba make their fourth appearance in the Olympic Games after previously competing in London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020.
* Paris edition will see five Olympic medalists with Alaa Abouelkassem (Silver in foil, London 2012), Weightlifter Sara Samir (Bronze in Rio de Jannero 2016), Ahmed El-Gendy (Silver in Pentathlon, Tokyo 2020), Wrestler Mohamed Ibrahim (Bronze in Tokyo 2020) and Seif Issa (Bronze in Taekwondo, Tokyo 2020).
* Egypt made 22 Olympic appearances and are currently ranked 53rd internationally.
* They have accumulated a total of 38 medals, including eight gold, 11 silver, and 19 bronze medals so far.
* Weightlifting has been the most successful sport for Egypt in terms of medal count, with a total of 14 medals.
* Wrestling has claimed eight medals, while boxing and Taekwondo have secured four medals each.
