* The Egyptian delegation heading to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games consists of 164 athletes, including 16 substitutes, making it the largest in Egypt's participation history.

* Egypt will participate in 22 different sports during the prestigious tournament, including three team sports.

* The fencing delegation is the largest among the other disciplines with 21 athletes and five substitutes.

* Sara Amr Hosny, a 14-year-old Egyptian fencer, is the youngest competitor in the fencing event at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

* Egyptian shooter Amira Abu Shoka, who will turn 45 on 15 August, is the oldest athlete in the Egyptian delegation. She will be making her debut in the Olympics by participating in Paris 2024.

* Olympic medalists Sara Samir and Ahmed Elgendy have been chosen as the flagbearers for the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games by the Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC).

* Veteran fencer Alaa Abouelkassem and shooter Azmy Mehelba make their fourth appearance in the Olympic Games after previously competing in London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020.

* Paris edition will see five Olympic medalists with Alaa Abouelkassem (Silver in foil, London 2012), Weightlifter Sara Samir (Bronze in Rio de Jannero 2016), Ahmed El-Gendy (Silver in Pentathlon, Tokyo 2020), Wrestler Mohamed Ibrahim (Bronze in Tokyo 2020) and Seif Issa (Bronze in Taekwondo, Tokyo 2020).

* Egypt made 22 Olympic appearances and are currently ranked 53rd internationally.

* They have accumulated a total of 38 medals, including eight gold, 11 silver, and 19 bronze medals so far.

* Weightlifting has been the most successful sport for Egypt in terms of medal count, with a total of 14 medals.

* Wrestling has claimed eight medals, while boxing and Taekwondo have secured four medals each.
