Preview: Egypt Handball team face Denmark, Fencer Abouelkassem, Swimmer El-Kamash start missions

Veteran Egyptian athletes are set to compete, with the Egyptian Handball team gearing up for a difficult match against World Champions Denmark in the Group stage.

The Egyptian Handball team's journey unfolds as they prepare to encounter Denmark in a difficult Group stage fixture.

Denmark asserted their strength with a 37-29 victory over hosts and Tokyo 2020 champions France, following Egypt's own triumph against Hungary with a score of 35-32.

Silver medalist at London 2012, Fencer Alaa Abouelkassem, who makes his fourth appearance at the Olympics, will kick off his campaign by facing Japan's Kazuki Imura in the Men's Foil Individual Round of 32.

Another experienced athlete, 31-year-old swimmer Marwan El-Kamash, entering his third Olympics, will commence his competition in the Men's 800m freestyle event.

In the realm of Table Tennis, Omar Mohamed Assar (33) will persist in his campaign as he squares off against Colombia's Alberto Mino in the Round of 32 singles event.

Having participated in three prior Olympic Games, Assar recently defeated Fabio Rakotoarimanana of Madagascar 4-1 in the round of 64 on Sunday.
