Ranked 26th in the world, Hafez engaged in a hard-fought battle against Jeon, the 10th-ranked fencer globally, but unfortunately, she was eliminated in the round of 16.

Hafez kicked off Egypt's Monday campaign at the 2024 Paris Olympics with a notable victory, overcoming the 7th-ranked Tartakovsky.

She secured her spot in the last 16 of the Sabre Individual Women's event by triumphing over Elizabeth Tartakovsky of the USA with a score of 15-13.

This marks Hafez's third Olympic appearance, following her participation in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, where she exited in the rounds of 64 and 32, respectively.
