Egyptian veteran shooter Azmy Mehelba will be looking to improve on his 15th-place finish from yesterday's men's skeet qualifying round. The 33-year-old, a four-time Olympian, scored 71 points on the first day. His compatriot, Omar Ibrahim, finished in 29th place with 62 points and will also be aiming to climb the leaderboard.

The women's skeet competition gets underway today with Amira Aboushokka representing Egypt.

Meanwhile, in the swimming pool, Marwan El-Kamash will compete in the men's 1500m freestyle heats. The 31-year-old, a two-time Olympian, is aiming to qualify for the final.

It's worth noting that El-Kamash recently finished 27th in the men's 800m freestyle heats, failing to advance to the final.

The sailing events also continue today with Kholoud Mansy and Aly Badawy competing in the dinghy races. Both sailors have faced tough competition in the opening races and will be looking to improve their positions.

The top ten sailors in the opening series will advance to the medal race.
