Egypt beat Argentina 34-27 on Sunday in their final group-stage game to finish second behind leaders and three-time world champions Denmark.
Already-qualified Egypt had a slow start and fell behind 8-5 midway through the first half. The Pharaohs were sloppy in front of goal and vulnerable at the back but managed to close the gap to 15-14 at the break.
The Egyptians turned their fortunes around in the second half, scoring in quick succession to take their first lead at 17-16 in the 34th minute.
Paris St Germain duo Yehia Khaled and Ahmed Hesham outclassed their Argentine rivals, leading Egypt to extend their lead.
Keeper Karim Hendawy produced an impressive performance, saving 15 out of 42 shots, allowing his teammates to remain on the front foot and conclude the game with a 34-27 win.
Egypt will play the third-placed team from Group A, which is yet to be determined.
