Egypt goalkeeper Karim Hendawi expressed on Sunday the team's strong determination to advance as far as possible in the ongoing Olympic games.
The Pharaohs secured their spot in the quarter-finals by defeating Argentina 34-27 on Sunday, finishing the group stage with seven points out of ten possible.
The Egyptian team will have to wait until Sunday night to determine their final standings in the group and their opponent in the quarter-finals.
In the previous Olympics in Tokyo, Egypt came close to securing a historic medal but fell short against Spain in the bronze medal match.
This time around, Hindawi is hopeful that the Pharaohs can achieve even greater success.
"The identity of our opponent is not crucial," Hindawi stated to BeIN Sports after the game.
"Our aim is to progress as far as we can in the competition."
The veteran goalkeeper delivered an impressive performance during the match, making 15 saves out of 42 shots (36%).
Egypt's quarter-final match is scheduled for Wednesday.
