The U-23 football team will face Morocco in a the bronze medal match on Thursday after a heartbreaking 3-1 loss to hosts France in the semi-finals.
The Egyptian football team displayed resilience throughout the tournament but fell short against the formidable French side.
A victory over Morocco would salvage a medal for Egypt and provide a glimmer of hope after the semifinal defeat.
Turning to individual sports, Egypt's pentathlon duo of Ahmed Elgendy and Mohanad Shaban will embark on their Olympic quest tomorrow with the fencing ranking round.
Elgendy, the Tokyo silver medalist, is aiming for gold this time and will be joined by Shaban in their pursuit of a medal for Egypt.
The women's pentathlon will also see action tomorrow as Salma Abdel-Maksoud and Malak Ismail compete in the fencing ranking round.
Both athletes will be looking to make a strong start to their respective campaigns.
In other sports, Taekwondo athlete Ahmed Nassar will face a tough challenge against France's Souleymane Alaphilippe in the round of 16.
Rhythmic gymnast Aliaa Saleh will compete in the individual all-around qualifying round, while wrestler Gamal Abdelnasser will begin his campaign against Darian Toi Cruz of Puerto Rico in the 57kg freestyle round of 16.
Finally, cyclist Youssef Zaky Abouelhassan will participate in the men's omnium, starting with the scratch race.
