Egypt's U-23 coach, Roger Micale, acknowledges the challenging encounter awaiting his team against Morocco, expressing his desire to secure a medal with Egypt following his gold-winning experience with Brazil at Rio 2016.
The Egyptian team is set to face Morocco in the bronze medal match at La Beaujoire stadium in Nantes on Thursday, aiming for an unprecedented Olympic medal.
Last year, Egypt U-23 suffered a 2-1 defeat against Morocco in the final of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, where both teams secured Olympic berths.
In this tournament, Egypt seek to avenge their prior loss and achieve a historic feat at the expense of the Moroccans.
"The game against Morocco will be very tough," Micale told reporters on Wednesday.
"But we have to overcome the expected challenges in order to secure the medal."
The Brazilian coach who guided his country in winning gold at Rio de Janeiro 2016, Micale expressed his commitment to help the Egyptian team in their medal quest in Paris.
"It would bring me immense joy to win another medal with a different country."
"It will be a great honor, and we will strive to fulfill our mission."
Egypt suffered a 3-1 defeat against hosts France in the semifinals on Monday, while the Moroccan team faced a 2-1 loss to Spain in the same round earlier in the day.
