Zaki terminates a one-year contract due to injury concerns

Egyptian striker Amr Zaki terminated his contract with Lebanese side Al-Ahed on Friday as he needs time to recover from an injury sustained last season.

The 31-year-old attacker has recently joined Al-Ahed on a one-year contract in August, but he has said that he needs time to complete his rehab to recover from an injury that sidelined him for a long time.

The former Wigan and Hull City striker was a free agent since February when he terminated his contract with Moroccan side Raja de Casablanca.

He also had short spells at Turkish side Elazigspor and Al-Salmiya of Kuwait, where he failed to make an impact.

The former Zamalek marksman has struggled over the past two years due to constant injuries.

The new season of the Lebanese league is due to start on 26 September.
