Zamalek's spoiled star Shikabala fills Portuguese newspapers after a 20-day unexcused absence
Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon has decided to discipline Egypt midfielder Mahmoud "Shikabala" Abdel-Razik due to an unexcused absence.
"Shikabala will be under the disciplinary jurisdiction of the club after 20 days of absence," stated Portuguese newspaper Record early Wednesday, one of a series of news stories about the player's absence.
The 28-year-old forward was supposed to return to Portugal on 13 September after participating with the Egyptian national team in their two successive defeats by Senegal and Tunisia in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Earlier this month, Sporting dropped Shikabala from the UEFA Champions League squad and issued a statement regarding his lack of commitment.
According to reports in Portuguese newspapers, the club president Bruno de Carvalho has talked to the former Zamalek star and he is expected to show up for the disciplinary commitment shortly.
