Despite their 3-2 loss against TP Mazembe in the second-leg of the Champions League semis, ES Steif secured a place in the competition's final for the first time since 1988.

The Algerian side reached the final on the away goal rule after they won the first-leg 2-1 last week at home.

Striker Abdel Malek Ziaya gave the Algerians an early lead in the 9th minute with a cross-cum-shot to stun the home crowd, putting his side in the driving seat.

The hosts responded with three goals from Adjei Ni (24), Salif Coulibaly (38) and Jonathan Bolingi (53).

However, Setif's substitute striker Sofiane Younes scored a precious goal with 15 minutes remaining to ruin Mazembe's bid for a fifth Champions League crown.

Setif, who won the competition once in 1988, will face Congo's Vita Club who reached the final at the expense of Tunisian side Club Sfaxien with a 4-2 aggregate victory.
