After Moroccan Difaa and Egyptian Contractors, will Kuwait be Shehata's third team in one month?
The Kuwaiti Football Association has officially asked Egypt's former coach Hassan Shehata to become their national team boss, succeeding Portugal's Jorvan Vieira.
The Middle East News Agency (MENA) revealed on Sunday that Shehata is in negotiations with his current club Arab Contractors to agree to the move.
The 65-year-old tactician has only spent weeks at the Egyptian club after he broke his contract with Moroccan side Difaa El-Jadidi.
Shehata previously coached Arab Contractors in 2003, a turning point in his coaching career, guiding them to win both the Egypt Cup and Super Cup in the 2003/04 season when they were still a second-division side.
His managerial career has been remarkable, having guided Egypt to three consecutive African Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010, an unprecedented feat on the continent.
He is currently linked with a return to the Pharaohs after the dismissal of his former assistant Shawky Gharib following the team's failure to qualify for the third consecutive Africa Cup of Nations.
