A policeman was killed in a bombing late on Thursday targeting a police building in the Canal city of Suez, east of Cairo, state TV reported.
The attack came shortly after a series of attacks on police and army targets in North Sinai killed at least 26 people, including civilians, and wounded dozens others.
Egypt has struggled to crush a militant insurgency based in Egypt's border Sinai region that has spiked since the 2013 ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi.
Hundreds of police and troops have been killed since.
