Auxerre’s French-born keeper Adam Mansour gets first call-up to Egypt’s youth team squad

Adam Mansour, Auxerre’s French-born goalkeeper who is of Egyptian descent, earned a call-up to the Pharaohs’ U-20 team squad.

Egypt coach Diaa El-Sayed reportedly wants to assess the 19-year-old’s performance to make up his mind on whether to include him in the team’s squad for the U-20 World Cup, which will take place in Colombia in July and August.

Egypt will hold a training camp later this month as part of their preparations for the anticipated tournament, which they reached after finishing fourth in the African Youth Championship.

Promising guardian Mansour signed a professional three-year contract with French outfit Auxerre last year.

Having not represented either side on the senior level, Mansour is still eligible to play for France or Egypt.

Masry’s Ahmed El-Shennawi, who produced some impressive displays at the African Championship, is Egypt’s regular keeper.
