Moroccan midfielder Houssine Kharja turns down the possibility of joining French side Paris Saint-Germain

Genoa’s Moroccan midfielder Houssine Kharja denied on Wednesday reports linking him with a move to French side Paris Saint-Germain.

The 29-year-old, who failed to secure a permanent stay with Serie A runners-up Inter Milan, said he would rather remain in Italy or join a Spanish outfit.

“Everything that I am reading about Paris SG and myself is just talk. I have not been contacted by them,” Kharja was quoted as saying by Italian media.

“Ligue 1 is a perfect championship for young players to form, it’s no good for me.”

“My priority is to remain in Italy or to go and play my football in Spain,” the Moroccan international added.

Kharja, who moved to Italy in 2001, played for several Serie A clubs such as Temana, Roma, Piacenza, Sienne, Genoa and Inter.
