PM Essam Sharaf started to meet candidates for the position of governor in governorates in Egypt earlier today. It is expected that prime minister will announce the new governors in the coming hours.

It is expected that between eight and ten new governors will be appointed.

Sharaf announced in an official statement earlier last month that new governors will be appointed by the end of July.
