Ghana and AC Milan based striker Dominic Adiyiah defends his move to the Turkish second division team Karsiyaka after being criticised
Dominic Adiyiah has recently joined Turkish second division side Karsiyaka on loan, coming from Italian Serie A giants AC Milan in the 2011 summer transfer window. As a result, he faces more criticism from the Ghanaian people.
“Karsiyaka may not be the top division but it is just a step below," Adiyiah told a television programme, adding, “People are asking why I would go to the Turkey second division but the truth is they were the only club that truly wanted me."
"People mentioned all sorts of clubs in Germany, in Spain, in France and wondered why I did not go but the point is as a player I can't force myself on a club,” the player stressed. “I can't go to a club and tell them I am Dominic Adiyiah, please sign me."
The 21-year old who was top scorer and best player at the 2009 World Youth Championships also revealed that he is hopeful the move will not mean omission from the Black Stars in the near future.
"If I am playing well the coach will judge me on my football and not what division I play in," he said.
