Egypt’s temperatures to drop 10 degrees starting Friday, sandstorm on Sunday

An unseasonable heat wave gripped Egypt this week, with very hot mornings and warm nights


Temperatures in Egypt are expected to drop 10 degrees Celsius on Friday, ending a weeklong heat wave that saw a bright sun and warm evenings, Egypt’s Meteorological Authority (EMA) told state news agency MENA.

Colder winter temperatures will last from Friday until at least Tuesday and winter clothes are recommended by EMA.

Limited winds and dust will be seen on Saturday, reaching a sandstorm on Sunday across the country.

There is a possibility of light rain on Sunday in the north coasts, the Delta, and Cairo.

Friday through Tuesday, Cairo and the Delta will see highs of 21 to 24 degrees Celsius.

An unseasonable heat wave gripped Egypt last week, with very hot mornings in Cairo reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius, and warm nights.
