Egyptian naval forces arrived in the United Arab Emirates Monday for joint military training with Emirati units, Egypt’s army spokesperson, Brigadier Mohamed Samir, said in a Facebook statement.

The exercises come in the context of a strategy of exercises between Egypt and the UAE.

“Khalifa 2 exercises are one of the strongest and biggest joint exercises in the Gulf region,“ the statement read.

On Saturday, the Egyptian air force began a joint military training exercise in Kuwait with Kuwaiti counterparts.
