Strikers call for better pay and conditions and removal of administration head

Tens of irrigation workers began a strike on Monday morning in the city of Luxor.

The workers protested in front the Irrigation Administration’s headquarters in the city to demand higher salaries, a minimum wage, and permanent contracts for all those who work in the administration. They also want the administration to release a 200 per cent bonus to the employees.

The workers also demand the head of the administration, Ayman Borei, be removed due to his incompetence.
