Ashour, Fathi and Ramadan Sobhi to boost Ahly against rivals Zamalek in the final match day of the Egyptian league

Ahly midfielder Saleh Gomaa could miss Saturday’s anticipated derby against rivals Zamalek after recent punishment by his coach, while teammates Hossam Ashour and Ahmed Fathi will be ready for the Egyptian league last day match.

“Coach Martin Jol has decided that Gomaa will train individually for three days after skipping recent practices without permission,” Ahly said in a statement via its official website on Wednesday.

“The coach is yet to determine the player’s availability for the derby,” the statement added.

The Reds, who already secured their 38th league title following last week's 2-1 over Ismaily, are now on 75 points, while Zamalek are second with 68.

Ahly lost the services of key duo midfielder Hossam Ashour and winger Ahmed Fathi in Monday’s 1-1 league draw to Ittihad of Alexandria due to back and stomach pains respectively, but the duo will boost the team against Zamalek.

“Fathi and Ashour are fit for Zamalek match after recovering from their injuries,” Ahly’s doctor Khaled Mahmoud announced.

Rising star Ramadan Sobhi is also fit for the match after recovering from a calf injury and is scheduled to be available for Thursday’s training session.

Against the Whites on Saturday, Ahly will, however, have to do without influential duo Malick Evouna and Abdallah El-Said due to injuries.
