Young Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi has asked Egyptian and Ahly fans to support him and not be angry about his move to join English Premier League outfit Stoke City during the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old winger is close to finalising the deal to join Stoke City after Egyptian champions Ahly accepted a reported 6 million euro offer.

"I hope Ahly fans are not angry with me after leaving the club to achieve my dream of playing in Europe," Sobhi told a television programme late on Thursday.

"I am waiting for Ahly and Egyptian fans' support as I travel to England to play with the name of Egypt, not only to achieve goals," he added.

Sobhi has passed medical with Stoke City and he returned to Egypt waiting the official announcement of the deal from Stoke City management.

"My official move to Stoke City will be revealed soon during the coming few days before leaving again to England." the promising youngster concluded.

One of the best players of the Egyptian League last season, Sobhi was a standout performer as Ahly wrestled the league title from arch-rivals Zamalek, thanks to his mesmerising skills that enabled him to score five league goals and help create eight others, rescuing his team from many defeats single-handedly.

Since his departure the Red Devils have given a lacklustre performance and are on the brink of elimination from the African Champions League.
